This tropical disturbance will stay to our south and eventually move southwest away from the area this weekend, but plenty of moisture from it means rain chances stay elevated this weekend. There will be times when it's dry, but do expect afternoon showers and t-storms this weekend. Highs will hover around 90 degrees.

By Sunday and into next week our attention will turn to the tropical wave entering the Gulf of Mexico from the east. It does have chance of development through the beginning of next week. This at minimum will bring better chances for rain to the Northern Gulf Coast Monday through Wednesday.

Models don't develop it into much, but models can really struggle with this, so it's not something we want to just ignore. But at the same time it's possible it's nothing more than a rain-maker.

Wind shear will weaken and sea surface temperatures are plenty warm, so a tropical depression could form by late this weekend and further organization is not out of the question. This is one of those things we need to follow closely.
